The most beautiful names
The Quran tells us that Allah has names that are beautiful beyond compare, and invites us to call on Him by them. Knowing them is a way of knowing Him: His mercy when we fall short, His knowledge when we feel unseen, His generosity when we ask.
Use the theme filters above to explore the names by meaning, save the ones that speak to you, and play them aloud until they feel familiar. The English and Urdu lines are commonly given meanings meant to help you remember each name; the audio is a pronunciation guide.

Say every name the way it should be said.
Knowing a name is one thing; pronouncing it correctly is another. A teacher hears each letter, corrects the sound, and helps you memorise the names you love.
Questions about the 99 Names
The 99 Names of Allah, known as Asma ul Husna ("the most beautiful names"), are names and attributes of Allah taken from the Quran and the authentic teachings of the Prophet, peace be upon him, such as Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful), Al-Aleem (The All-Knowing) and Al-Ghafoor (The Forgiving).
A well-known hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim says that Allah has ninety-nine names, and whoever preserves them will enter Paradise. The list on this page follows the widely used list found in the narration of Imam at-Tirmidhi. Scholars have differed over the exact list, and they note the names of Allah are not limited to ninety-nine.
Tap any name to hear it, slow the audio to 0.75× and repeat after it. The audio here is a clear synthetic Arabic voice made as a pronunciation guide, not a recitation. For exact Arabic sounds, a teacher who listens and corrects you is always best.
Learn a few names each day, group them by theme (mercy, power, knowledge and so on), play the whole list on repeat while you walk or commute, and use the listening quiz to check yourself. Saving names you find hard keeps them one tap away.
Each name carries a depth that no single word can fully capture. The English and Urdu lines give the commonly stated meaning to help you understand and remember the name. For deeper study, read the explanations of trusted scholars.
