About Virtual Quran Center

An online Quran academy for families and adult learners worldwide, with a focus on the UK and USA, built around one idea: a qualified teacher, one learner, and a schedule that fits.

Our intention

A small academy that takes each learner personally.

We match, we listen, we correct, we follow up. If a teacher is not right for you, we change the teacher, not the learner.

What we do

We provide private, one-to-one online Quran lessons for children and adults: reading from the alphabet, Tajweed, memorisation and full Hifz, Islamic studies for children, and Quranic Arabic. Lessons run in UK and US time zones with male and female teachers, and learners from any country are welcome.

Why we started

Too many families choose between a local class that does not fit their week and an online academy that feels anonymous. We wanted the individual attention of a private tutor with the structure of a school: a clear curriculum, a consistent teacher, visible progress and policies you can read.

What we stand for

  • Honesty. No invented numbers, reviews, credentials or timelines anywhere on this site. Where information is not yet available, we say so.
  • Consistency. The same teacher, the same slots, the same lesson shape.
  • Transparency. Curriculum, methodology, pricing and safeguarding are all published in full.
  • Respect. For children, for adult beginners, for new Muslims, and for the Quran itself.

Leadership and team

Details of the academy's leadership, teaching coordinators and content reviewers will be published here with their real names, roles and qualifications. Until then this section is intentionally left brief rather than filled with placeholders.

Editorial and review process

Educational content is written by our teaching team and reviewed before publication. Anything touching Quranic interpretation, jurisprudence or rulings is reviewed by a qualified scholar and carries "Reviewed by" and "Last reviewed" lines. We do not issue religious rulings.

About Virtual Quran Center

Virtual Quran Center is an online Quran academy teaching children and adults through private, one-to-one video lessons with qualified male and female teachers. We teach the Noorani Qaida, Quran reading, Tajweed, memorisation and Hifz, Quranic Arabic and Islamic studies for children, to learners in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and wherever else our teaching hours reach. This page explains what we believe about teaching the Quran, how the academy runs, and what we will and will not claim.

What we believe about learning the Quran

Reading and reciting the Quran correctly is a skill, and skills are learned by practice with correction. That is the whole basis of the academy. A learner who reads aloud to a teacher for twenty-five minutes, four times a week, and is corrected on every word, will learn to read. A learner who sits in a class of twenty and reads for four minutes a week will take years, and may never become fluent. We built the academy around private lessons because that is where the reading time is.

We also believe that the same teacher, every week, matters more than any curriculum. A teacher who knows which letters a child confuses, which surah an adult is halfway through, and what was promised last month, teaches better than a stranger with a better syllabus. So our teachers keep their learners.

And we believe that progress should be written down. Parents should not have to rely on "it went fine"; adult learners should be able to see movement over months. Every lesson ends with a note, and every month with a summary.

How the academy runs

A small coordination team matches learners with teachers, handles scheduling and answers questions. Teachers work across UK and US hours and take every lesson for their own learners. Lessons are private video calls; there are no group classes and no recorded courses. We have no physical premises in any country, and we say so on every country page because some academies imply otherwise.

How we choose teachers

Every teacher must have a recognised Quran or Tajweed teaching qualification, or equivalent verified training; teaching experience with the learners they are assigned; clear, correct recitation demonstrated to us directly; and the ability to explain in English. Teachers who work with children are subject to our safeguarding practices. Profiles are published as teachers join and consent, and they state only what we can verify. More on the teachers page.

What we will not claim

We will not call ourselves the best, the leading or the most trusted online Quran academy, because we cannot prove it and neither can anyone else who says it. We will not publish student numbers, countries served or success rates that we cannot document. We will not invent reviews or star ratings; stories from families appear on the reviews page only with their consent and only as they are shared. We will not describe a teacher as holding an Ijazah or a degree they do not hold. And we will not promise that a child will memorise the Quran in a fixed number of months, because that depends on the child, the frequency and the practice, and anyone who promises otherwise is guessing.

Who runs the academy

The academy is run by its founding team and coordinators. Names and roles are published on this page as the team confirms them for public listing; we would rather be brief than invent. Editorial content on this site, including the guides in the resources section, is written by the academy's teaching team and marked as educational guidance rather than religious rulings.

Policies you can read

Our safeguarding, privacy, terms and refund and cancellation pages are published in full. Where a policy is still being finalised, the page says so. We think a family deciding whether to trust us with a child's education should be able to read every rule before booking.

Questions go to a coordinator through the contact page or WhatsApp. The quickest way to see how we teach is the free trial: a real lesson with a real teacher, no payment details, no obligation.

What we teach

Seven courses cover the whole journey. The Noorani Qaida takes a complete beginner from the alphabet to reading words. Quran reading takes them from the Qaida to fluent reading of the Mushaf. Tajweed teaches fluent readers to recite correctly, one rule at a time in their own recitation. Memorisation and Hifz build what is learned by heart with a revision system that keeps it. Arabic for Quran teaches readers to understand what they recite. Islamic studies for children teaches belief, worship and character alongside reading. Audience pages for children, adults, women, new Muslims and families explain how the courses are adapted for each.

Whom we teach, and where

Children from about five, teenagers, adults of every age, and new Muslims. Our teachers work across UK and US hours, which means the widest choice of times for learners in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Ireland, and workable evening slots for Australia and much of Europe through the overlap with UK mornings. Every time on this website is shown in the visitor’s own zone.

How progress is tracked

Every learner is placed on our seven-level framework in the trial lesson, from the alphabet to advanced recitation. After every lesson the teacher writes a short note; every month the notes become a summary showing attendance, position in the course, and what comes next. The framework is our own tool rather than a universal standard, and its purpose is simply to make progress visible over months to parents and adult learners.

How parents communicate with teachers

Through the lesson notes, the monthly summary, and messages routed through the academy, so that every exchange about a child is on record. Parents may sit in on lessons, especially in the first weeks, and may ask for a call with the teacher at any time. Our safeguarding page sets out how lessons with children are conducted and how to raise a concern.

Editorial standards for this website

The guides in our resources section are written by the academy’s teaching team and carry a publication date. They are educational guidance, not religious rulings, and they say so. Quranic text on this site is reproduced exactly, never altered or used as decoration, and set in a proper Quranic typeface. Where a matter is subject to differing scholarly views, we say so rather than present one view as settled. If you find an error, tell us through the contact page and we will correct it.

Why the academy is online only

An online academy can match a learner in Leeds with a teacher who suits them regardless of where either lives, can place a lesson at half past six in the morning because the slot belongs to one person, and can write down every lesson so that progress is visible. A building cannot do those things. What a building can do, provide a community, is something we encourage families to find locally alongside their lessons. We do not pretend to replace it.
