How Much Do Online Quran Classes Cost?

Online Quran classes at Virtual Quran Center start from $29 per month (£25 in the UK) for two private, live 30-minute classes a week with a qualified teacher. The monthly fee depends only on how many classes you want each week: two, three, four or five. Every plan is one-to-one, so the price you see is the price of a private Quran tutor. There is no extra charge for individual attention, learning material or choosing a female teacher.

Are online Quran classes expensive? Compared with a private tutor visiting your home, no. The Regular plan works out at about $3.25 per class, and because every minute is spent with the learner reading and being corrected, most families find it better value than a group class. There is no registration fee and no long-term contract, and every learner starts with a free trial class, so you meet the teacher before paying anything.

Quran memorisation has its own plan. Hifz Intensive is five 45-minute classes a week for $79 per month (£69), which covers new memorisation, daily revision and Tajweed correction in one longer lesson. Prices are shown in US dollars, pounds sterling, Canadian dollars and Australian dollars; students elsewhere are billed in US dollars.

FAQ

Choosing a course: your questions answered

  • Virtual Quran Center offers twelve online courses: Quran for beginners, Noorani Qaida, Quran reading, Quran with Tajweed, memorisation, Hifz, Arabic for Quran, Islamic studies for kids, and audience courses for kids, adults, women and new Muslims. Every course is private and starts with a free trial lesson. The courses form a natural sequence, from letters to reading to Tajweed and memorisation, but learners join wherever they are and move on when the teacher judges them ready. Book Online Quran Classes

  • Noorani Qaida is the right course for anyone starting from the letters, and Quran for Beginners is the guided route through it to reading. At Virtual Quran Center a teacher confirms the starting point in the free trial, so beginners never pay for the wrong course. The Qaida introduces letters, joined forms, vowel marks and the basic rules in a careful order, and its final lessons are drawn from the Quran itself. Start Quran Classes for Beginners

  • Most children start with Noorani Qaida, then Quran reading and memorisation of Juz Amma, with Islamic studies alongside if the family wishes. Our Quran for Kids course at Virtual Quran Center follows that route in 20 to 30-minute lessons with a teacher experienced with children. Ages are guides rather than rules: a ten-year-old who has never started begins with the Qaida, while a seven-year-old who already reads may go straight to the Mushaf. Explore Quran Classes for Kids

  • It depends on the starting point: Qaida for beginners, Quran reading for returning readers, Tajweed for fluent readers, memorisation for those who want it. The Quran for Adults course at Virtual Quran Center takes any adult from where they are, privately and at an adult pace. Adults who learned as children and stopped usually find that a great deal returns within weeks, and the teacher moves quickly through what has come back and carefully through what has not. Start Quran Classes for Adults

  • Yes. The Quran reading course at Virtual Quran Center takes learners from the Qaida to fluent reading of the Mushaf, starting with short surahs and correcting pronunciation line by line in private online lessons. Accuracy comes before speed: every letter and mark is read correctly, however slowly, before pace is asked for, because speed built on guessing does not stay accurate. Join Quran Reading Classes

  • Yes. Quran with Tajweed is taught one rule at a time and applied in your own recitation, for fluent readers. Virtual Quran Center teaches it privately, so the teacher hears every word. Fluent reading is required first; if reading is not yet secure, the teacher recommends the reading course, where Tajweed is corrected as it arises, rather than selling a course you cannot yet use. Join Online Tajweed Classes

  • Yes. Virtual Quran Center offers a memorisation course for shorter goals such as Juz Amma, and a full Hifz programme with a daily rhythm and a revision system that keeps what has been learned. Both use the same three-part lesson of new portion, recent revision and older revision, so what is memorised is not lost as new material is added. Begin Quran Memorisation

  • Yes. Noorani Qaida is our foundation course at Virtual Quran Center, taught on screen with the teacher pointing to each letter and correcting each sound, for children from about five and adult beginners. Children take it in 20 to 30-minute lessons with much repetition; adults take it faster, with explanations of why a letter changes shape or a mark changes a sound. Learn Noorani Qaida Online

  • Yes. The Arabic for Quran course at Virtual Quran Center teaches the vocabulary and grammar of the Quran specifically, so readers begin to understand the surahs they already recite. The course starts with the most frequent words and the root system, so familiar verses become partly transparent within the first lessons. It is not a course in conversational Arabic; it teaches the Arabic of the Quran, which is what its learners want. Learn Quranic Arabic Online

  • Choose by where the learner is now: letters, slow reading, fluent reading, or ready to memorise. Virtual Quran Center offers a two-minute questionnaire for a first suggestion, and the teacher confirms the course by hearing the learner in the free trial. Learners are often placed further along than they expected, and occasionally a step back, for instance a short Tajweed course before Hifz so that what is memorised is correct. Take the Course Finder

  • Yes. Every course at Virtual Quran Center is taught one-to-one with the same teacher every week. There are no group classes. That means the learner reads for the whole lesson and every mistake is corrected as it is made, whichever course they are on. That means the learner reads for the whole lesson and every mistake is corrected as it is made, whichever course they are on, and siblings each have their own lesson. Learn About Private Lessons

  • Courses are not fixed in length; a learner moves to the next stage when ready. Lessons at Virtual Quran Center are 30, 45 or 60 minutes, and the teacher gives an honest estimate of the stage ahead after the trial rather than a promised completion date. Progress is measured on a seven-level framework, so a parent can see that a child moved from letter joining to basic reading this term rather than waiting for a certificate. See How Courses Progress

  • Three to five short lessons for children and memorisers, two or three for working adults. The teacher at Virtual Quran Center recommends a rhythm in the free trial, and plans of two, three or five lessons a week are on the pricing page. One lesson a week is too few for a beginner of any age and the teacher will say so; frequency matters more than lesson length because forgetting happens between lessons. Compare Weekly Plans

  • Yes. Learners at Virtual Quran Center move from Qaida to reading to Tajweed to memorisation as they progress, usually with the same teacher, and can switch course at any time by telling the coordinator. The teacher's notes and the learning plan travel with the learner, so a change of course never means starting from a guess. Ask About Changing Course

  • Yes. No Arabic is needed to begin; the course starts with the letters. Virtual Quran Center teaches reading first and offers Arabic for Quran later for those who want to understand. Reading is a script skill: letters, joining and vowel marks. Most Muslims read the Quran long before they understand it, and understanding is a separate, later course. Start Without Arabic

  • Yes. Every course at Virtual Quran Center is taught to children and adults, with the lesson length, pace and method adapted to each. Dedicated routes exist for kids, adults, women and new Muslims. Children take shorter, more frequent lessons with repetition and praise; adults take longer lessons with explanations and questions, but the content of each course is the same. Browse All Courses

  • Yes. Every course starts with a free trial lesson at Virtual Quran Center, with no payment details required. Nothing is paid until you have met the teacher and chosen a plan. The written recommendation after the trial sets out the course, starting level, lesson length and weekly rhythm, and you can accept it, change it or decline. Book Your Free Trial

  • The course itself never changes the price. Every course at Virtual Quran Center is taught in private, live 30-minute classes, and the monthly fee depends only on how many classes you take a week: Starter is $29 (£25) for two, Regular $39 (£35) for three, Accelerated $49 (£45) for four and Intensive $59 (£55) for five. Hifz Intensive, with five 45-minute classes a week, is $79 (£69). There is no registration fee, no contract, and the first class is a free trial. See Plans and Fees

  • Start with Noorani Qaida if you cannot yet read joined Arabic words with vowel marks; start with Quran reading if you can read slowly but hesitate. If unsure, the teacher at Virtual Quran Center decides by hearing you read in the free trial. A learner who reads by memory rather than by the letters, which becomes obvious with an unfamiliar surah, usually needs the last part of the Qaida before reading proper. Let a Teacher Decide

  • Once you read fluently. Basic rules are corrected during reading lessons from the start, and the structured Tajweed course at Virtual Quran Center follows when reading is secure. Children meet qalqalah in the first surah of Juz Amma and ghunnah in the second, so by the end of Juz Amma they apply the main rules without a separate course. Start Learning Tajweed

  • When you read the passage fluently with reasonable Tajweed, so that what is memorised is correct. Children usually begin with Juz Amma alongside reading; Virtual Quran Center teachers advise the right moment in the trial. What is memorised with errors is memorised with errors permanently, which is why a short Tajweed course sometimes comes before Hifz even for a fluent reader. Join Online Hifz Classes

  • Yes. Many learners at Virtual Quran Center combine courses, for example reading with Islamic studies for a child, or Tajweed with memorisation for an adult, often with the same teacher. Reading needs frequency while Islamic studies or Arabic needs time to talk and think, so a typical combination is three or four reading lessons and one longer lesson a week.
