Around the Canadian school year
Most Canadian families schedule lessons after school on weekdays, with a lighter or later rhythm over the summer break. Lessons continue through July and August if you want them to; many parents use the summer for a burst of Qaida or memorisation progress, then settle back to two or three lessons a week when school resumes in September. Weekend morning slots suit families who prefer to keep weekday evenings free.
Clock changes in March and November are handled for you: your lesson stays at the same local time unless you ask to move it.
From Halifax to Vancouver, a teacher at your hour.
Evening slots across all Canadian time zones, billed in US dollars, with the same private teacher every lesson wherever the family moves.

Online Quran classes in Canada: how they fit a Canadian week
Canadian families who search for online Quran classes Canada are usually solving a scheduling problem. The local masjid runs a weekend class, which is valuable for community, but a child who reads for five minutes on a Saturday does not learn to read. Weekday evenings are the time that matters, and that is where private online lessons fit: a fixed slot after school or after dinner, in your own time zone, with a teacher who takes every lesson.
Time zones, honestly
Canada spans six time zones and our teachers work UK and US hours, so it is worth being specific about what is available where.
Eastern Time (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, the GTA). This is our largest Canadian region and the easiest to serve. After-school slots from about half past three line up with UK evening teaching hours; evening slots to about nine are covered by teachers working US hours. A four-thirty lesson in Toronto is half past nine in the evening in the UK.
Central Time (Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon). Late-afternoon and evening slots are well covered. Saskatchewan does not change its clocks, so a lesson time there stays fixed all year while the overlap with UK teachers shifts by an hour in summer; we handle that for you.
Mountain Time (Calgary, Edmonton). After-school and evening slots overlap with US Mountain and Pacific teaching hours.
Pacific Time (Vancouver, Surrey, Victoria). Early-evening slots are covered by US-hours teachers, and before-school slots in the morning line up with UK afternoon hours, which suits some families well.
Atlantic and Newfoundland Time (Halifax, St John's). An hour, or ninety minutes, ahead of Toronto; afternoon and early-evening slots have the widest choice.
Every time on this website is converted to your zone automatically and can be changed by hand. Clock changes in March and November are handled for you: your lesson stays at the same local time unless you ask to move it.
Around the Canadian school year
Most families run two to four lessons a week after school from September to June, then either keep the same rhythm through July and August or use the summer differently. Some ease off; many do the opposite and use the long break for a concentrated block of Qaida or memorisation, when there is no homework competing for the evening. Both work, and the teacher stays the same either way. Around March break, exam periods in high school and Ramadan, lessons can be moved with twenty-four hours' notice or paused for a few weeks.
What Canadian families most often ask for
Noorani Qaida for young children, three to five short lessons a week, is the most common starting point. Female teachers for daughters, and often for young sons, are requested by a large share of families; choose one when you book and we confirm availability at your times before the trial. Tajweed for adults in evening or weekend slots is the usual adult request, from readers who learned as children in Pakistan, Somalia, Egypt or here and were never taught the rules. Hifz alongside school is a growing request and needs a daily lesson, even a short one, timed around homework. Several families ask for a teacher who speaks Urdu, Arabic, Somali or French so that explanations can be given in the home language; state it when you book and we match against teacher profiles.
Courses available to learners in Canada
Every course is available: Noorani Qaida, Quran reading, Tajweed, memorisation and Hifz, Arabic for Quran and Islamic studies for children. Lessons are private and one-to-one; there are no group classes.
Pricing and payment in Canada
Plans are monthly and billed in US dollars by card. We do not yet offer Canadian-dollar billing, so your card provider converts at its own rate; we say this plainly because it affects the total. The trial lesson is free and no payment details are requested until you choose a plan. The pricing page lets you build a plan from lessons per week, lesson length and number of learners, and shows exactly what is included.
No office in Canada, and why that does not matter
Virtual Quran Center has no premises in Canada. Every lesson is a private video call, and every teacher is matched to your learner regardless of where either of you lives. We mention it because some websites imply a local presence they do not have. What matters to a Canadian family is whether a good teacher is available at half past four Eastern on a Tuesday, and that is the question we answer.
Cities we serve
Our Canadian learners are most often in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Scarborough, Markham, Vaughan, Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Surrey, but online lessons reach every province and territory equally. We have deliberately not built separate pages for each city, because the lessons are the same and only the time zone differs.
How to start
Book the free trial, choose your province's time zone, and tell us who is learning and when. A coordinator proposes a teacher, you meet them, and you decide. If you would like to ask about a specific time first, message us on WhatsApp.

Yes. Children from about five learn with Virtual Quran Center in 20 to 30-minute private lessons after school, with a note to parents after each lesson. Most families run lessons after school from September to June and use the summer either for a lighter rhythm or a concentrated block of Qaida. A parent stays nearby for the first weeks, then reads the note after each lesson. Explore Quran Classes for Kids
Yes. Canadian adults learn privately with Virtual Quran Center before work, in the evening or at weekends, from the alphabet to Tajweed and Hifz. Adults who learned to read as children and were never taught Tajweed are the most common Canadian adult learners. Nobody else is in the lesson, and an adult may keep the camera off; early-morning and late-evening slots exist because each belongs to one learner. Start Quran Classes for Adults
Yes. Request a female teacher for any course at Virtual Quran Center; we confirm availability at your times before the trial. Parents of daughters and adult women most often ask for one, and we never substitute a male teacher without asking. Choosing a female teacher never limits the course, and camera preferences are agreed with her before the first lesson. Find a Female Quran Teacher
Yes. Virtual Quran Center matches each Canadian learner with a dedicated tutor who takes every lesson privately in your zone. The tutor writes a short note after every lesson and a monthly summary, so a parent in Toronto or Calgary can follow progress without sitting in. A mismatch simply leads to another free trial with a different tutor. Find Your Quran Tutor
Canadian families are billed monthly in US dollars, based on lessons per week and lesson length; Canadian-dollar billing is available at the prices shown when you pick CAD on the pricing page. The exact monthly figure is put in writing before you agree to anything; the trial is free. Yes. The Tajweed course at Virtual Quran Center is taught privately to Canadian learners in evening and weekend slots. Adults who learned to read as children and were never taught the rules are the most common Canadian Tajweed learners. Two lessons a week in the evening, with daily practice on a set passage, is the usual working-adult rhythm. Join Online Tajweed Classes
Yes. Canadian children and adults follow the Hifz programme at Virtual Quran Center with daily lessons around school or work. A daily lesson is the standard rhythm, usually before school or in the early evening, with revision-only weeks during exams. The memorisation record adapts to the school year, so a lighter month during exams loses nothing. Join Online Hifz Classes
Yes. Beginners of any age start with the letters and the Noorani Qaida at Virtual Quran Center, privately, in their own zone. A beginner's first lessons cover the letters and their correct sounds, and the same teacher continues through the Qaida to reading. With no one else in the call, a beginner of any age reads without an audience. Start as a Beginner
Yes. Either gender can teach any course; tell us which you prefer on the booking form. We confirm who is free at your times before proposing a teacher, so the preference is honoured rather than promised. Female teachers teach the full range of courses, and the camera question is settled with the family beforehand. Many Canadian families choose a female teacher for daughters and young sons alike. Choose Your Teacher
Yes. One free trial lesson per learner with no payment details, in your own time zone. Choose your province's zone on the form and a coordinator confirms trial times with the proposed teacher. A written recommendation follows with a course, starting level, lesson length and weekly rhythm, and a second trial with a different teacher is free if the first is not the right fit.
