How to Learn Quran Online as a Beginner
A practical guide for adults and parents starting Quran from zero online: what to learn first, how to choose a teacher, what a lesson looks like, and how long each stage takes.
Sisters tell us the two things that matter most are a female teacher and a time that actually works. This course is built around both. Whether you are a beginner, a mother learning while the children nap, a student, or an advanced learner seeking Tajweed refinement, your lessons are private and your schedule is yours.
Any level.
Not sure? A teacher places you in the free trial. Or take the two-minute check.
A female Quran teacher, a private lesson and a time that fits the household. Reading, Tajweed or memorisation, from any starting point.
Every learner moves through these stages with one teacher, at their own pace. As per the chosen route, with the teacher adjusting when your availability changes.
Live, private 30-minute classes. Pick two to five a week. No registration fee, no contract, free trial first.
Every minute is the learner reading or reciting to the teacher, not watching. The split is typical; your teacher adapts it to you.
2 to 3 lessons a week for most sisters; Hifz students 5.
30 to 60 minutes.
One learner, one teacher, every lesson. Nobody else in the room.
State your preference when booking; we confirm who is free at your time.

The teacher hears the learner and sets the starting point. No payment details.
This course follows the same content as the adult route, from the alphabet to Tajweed and memorisation, with three things arranged for women learners from the start: a female teacher on request, lesson slots placed where a woman's day is actually quiet, and privacy in the lesson itself. It is written for adult women, though teenage girls follow the same route with the kids' lesson rhythm.
Many adult women never learned to read, or learned a little as girls and lost it; they begin with the Noorani Qaida at an adult pace. Many read fluently but were never taught Tajweed and hear their own mistakes without being able to name them; they begin with the Tajweed course. Some want to memorise, for prayer or as a long-held intention, and begin with memorisation or Hifz. Some read and recite well and want to understand; they take Arabic for Quran. The teacher hears you read in the trial and recommends the starting point; it is frequently further along than the learner expected.
Choose a female teacher when you book. Our female teachers teach every course, so the choice never limits what you can learn. If none is free at your first-choice time we say so and offer the nearest alternatives; we never substitute a male teacher without asking. The female Quran teachers page explains the process and gives an honest picture of availability.
A woman who works, runs a household, or both, rarely has a predictable free hour. Private lessons fit because each slot belongs to one learner and can sit where the quiet is: early morning before the house wakes, mid-morning after the school run, or late evening after bedtime. Thirty or forty-five minutes, two or three times a week, is the usual rhythm. Slots are fixed weekly, can be moved with twenty-four hours' notice, and can be paused around Ramadan, travel, a new baby or an exam season without losing your teacher.
Nobody else is in the call. You may keep your camera off; the teacher shares the text on screen and needs to hear you read, not see you. Lessons are never recorded without your consent; the policy is on the safeguarding page. For many women this is what turns an intention into a lesson, so it is worth stating plainly.
Mothers often take the slot before or after a child's lesson, with the same female teacher, on the family plan. Each learner keeps their own plan and notes; nobody's pace is tied to anyone else's.
A complete beginner with three lessons a week is usually reading vowelled words within a few months and short surahs within the first year. A returning reader usually recovers fluency in weeks. A fluent reader taking Tajweed usually hears improvement within a month. These are ranges from experience, not promises; the teacher gives a personal estimate after the trial and the monthly summary shows the reality.
Book the free trial, choose a female teacher, and tell us the times that are genuinely yours. No payment details are needed. The broader Quran classes for women page answers the questions women ask most.
Female teachers are assigned wherever one is available at your preferred times. If none is available for your exact slot, we tell you and offer alternatives rather than assigning a male teacher without your agreement.
