Surah At-Tariq سُورَةُ الطَّارِقِ

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ1

86:1By the sky and the night comer -

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ2

86:2And what can make you know what is the night comer?

ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ3

86:3It is the piercing star -

إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌۭ4

86:4There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.

فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ5

86:5So let man observe from what he was created.

خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍۢ دَافِقٍۢ6

86:6He was created from a fluid, ejected,

يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ7

86:7Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.

إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌۭ8

86:8Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able.

يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ9

86:9The Day when secrets will be put on trial,

فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍۢ وَلَا نَاصِرٍۢ10

86:10Then man will have no power or any helper.

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ11

86:11By the sky which returns [rain]

وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ12

86:12And [by] the earth which cracks open,

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌۭ فَصْلٌۭ13

86:13Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement,

وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ14

86:14And it is not amusement.

إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا15

86:15Indeed, they are planning a plan,

وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًۭا16

86:16But I am planning a plan.

فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا17

86:17So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.
